Getting started

With CoroPlus® Tool Library, you can assemble virtual tools in a fast and secure manner and export data quickly for CAM programming and simulation.

Working with CoroPlus® Tool Library

The Home screen of the CoroPlus® Tool Library is the initial point for accessing all application features.

Create a new tool assembly

You can start building your assembly from different parts within CoroPlus® Tool Library.

  1. By tool type
Build a tool assembly by browsing and searching for items. Start by selecting the tool type you want to create. This option is best when you know what type of tool you want to create. When the assembly is saved, you can add cutting data to it.
  2. By application
Build or find a tool assembly by specifying material, machine, and task parameters. This option is best when you want to get a recommendation on what tool to use. When the assembly is completed and saved, cutting data for the specified task is automatically added to it.
  3. Recent assemblies
This section allows you to both view and copy recently built assemblies. By clicking on My assemblies, you can access a comprehensive list of all your assemblies.

Explore more capabilities

In the upper area of the user interface (black bar), you will find further capabilities for using CoroPlus® Tool Library.

  1. My assemblies
All saved assemblies can be conveniently accessed under My assemblies.
  2. Custom Items
All tools imported to CoroPlus® Tool Library are stored in Custom items.
  3. Catalog
CoroPlus® Tool Library comes ready with over sixty thousand tools from the Sandvik Coromant catalogue.
  4. Tool recommendation
If you are looking for a specific tool suitable for a concrete operation, you can get a recommendation from CoroPlus® Tool Guide. You can immediately build and you’re your assembly with the recommended products.
  5. ToolsUnited
With ToolsUnited, you can import tools from other vendors. A separate account for ToolsUnited is required, and products are bought with ToolsUnited credits.
  6. CAM extensions
CAM extensions allow you to connect with your favorite CAM software and seamlessly transfer tooling data to CAM.
  7. Tutorial
A series of instructional videos designed to guide you to perform a specific task and achieve your desired outcome through step-by-step instructions.
  8. Support and Feedback
You can send support queries and improvement suggestions to CoroPlus® Tool Library team.
  9. Notification bell
Recent updates, warnings, and error-related information can be accessed through the bell icon in the top bar.

ISO 13399

All tools in the CoroPlus® Tool Library areas are described based on ISO 13399.
ISO 13399's official title is „Cutting tool data representation and exchange. " It is an international standard for the computer-interpretable representation and exchange of industrial product data. In particular, ISO 13399 describes items and tool assemblies consistently and in detail.

Parametric graphic for tool class

In principle, tools with a similar design are assigned to a specific tool class (GTC class). Parameter graphics primarily serve to reflect this graphically. Therefore, there is a parameter graphic for each tool class. Its most important contents are:

  1. The representation of the basic geometric shape.
  2. The visualization or definition of the most important parameters.
  3. The position of the zero point.
