Whenever you are unsure of the cause of an unexpected tool wear, simply use your phone to take a picture of the tool wear and compare it with different wear types in a repository of images. The app allows you to measure the wear and save it or share it with a colleague.
The app will work using your phone’s built-in camera, but the best results will be achieved by using a microscopic lens with a zoom factor between 20x to 60x.
