Advancing sustainability with solar power
Our Rovereto Production Unit is now powered by solar panels covering an area equivalent to nearly one and a half football pitches. This installation is providing enough energy to power a modern refrigerator for 1,500 years.
In partnership with Dolomiti Energia, a regional leader in solar electric design and installation, the Rovereto facility activated its photovoltaic solar panels in May. This project underscores our commitment to innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
The panels, spanning 10,000 square meters, are set to produce 836,000 kWh per year, resulting in a 13% reduction in annual energy consumption for the facility.
Paolo Orsini, the Production Manager at Rovereto, stated: “By harnessing renewable energy sources, we aim to significantly decrease our reliance on non-renewable resources, thereby mitigating environmental impact and promoting long-term sustainability.”
Further exemplifying our commitment to environmental stewardship, our Langfang unit in China generates 1,645 kWh per day from solar panels, enough to power 55 homes daily. This initiative is part of the broader Green Factory project aimed at reducing energy consumption, minimizing waste, and promoting efficient use of resources. The project includes solar panels installed on the site’s carport, which provide shade while generating electricity.
These efforts are a testament to our dedication to advancing sustainability across all our production units globally.
