Corina, what value does learning have to you?

For me, learning is a life-long journey. Whether you are a student, machine operator, engineer, the leader of a production unit or a CEO – every one of us needs to stay up to date about the latest industry developments in technology, solutions and trends.

Can you briefly explain the scope of the Sandvik Coromant training programmes and what topics are covered?

Our training programmes are designed to meet our customers’ and partners’ unique manufacturing needs. We offer a wide range of programmes, starting from fundamental metalworking courses in how to apply metal cutting tools to advanced solutions trainings. The programmes incorporate the latest technology in tooling, machining applications and materials to offer the best practical know-how in manufacturing economics. It really is up to you to choose from the variety of topics that best fits your needs or challenges. There are variety of topics that we aim to fit best to address the manufacturing needs and challenges.

Do I have to visit Sandvik Coromant in person or do you also offer remote education?

You can choose to participate in:

• Online trainings, events, and webinars
• Self-study e-learning courses

Personally, I can recommend visiting any of our Sandvik Coromant Centers if possible. Our state-of-the-art centers offer the perfect environment for learning, inspiration and networking (as well as good coffee on top of that).

Can you give us some insights regarding how well the education offer is received?

Definitely, and I think the numbers speak for themselves. More than 30,000 engineers, technicians and operators sign up for our technical training programmes each year.

Last but not least, we all know it can be tough to get started. What is your motivation for learning?

I really enjoy learning new things and challenging myself to stay on top of the game. As the American author, Anthony J. D'Angelo once put it: “Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.”
