Sandvik Coromant Center opens its doors in Turkey

3 June 2021
Leader in metal cutting, Sandvik Coromant, is officially opening its Sandvik Coromant Center in Istanbul, Turkey. Part of a global network of facilities dedicated to productivity, research, innovation and education, the new center will act as a hub for visitors, who will gain access to the latest technologies, products, training and events under its roof.

In a digital ceremony, taking place on 10 June 2021, the Istanbul Sandvik Coromant Center will officially open its doors. While current COVID-19 restrictions limit physical presence on site, spectators will be given a virtual tour of the new facility and will hear from members of the local and global management teams.
Speaking at the event will be Beysim Çetin, Managing Director of Sandvik Coromant Turkey, alongside Sandvik Coromant’s President, Helen Blomqvist, who will officially open the center. Mattias Nilsson, General Manager of Sales for South Europe, and Björn Roodzant, Vice President of Marketing and Communication, will also head up proceedings.
In addition to a tour of the center, Beysim Çetin will take part in a live interview covering some of the manufacturing trends that are driving the Turkish market. The event will then highlight the ethos of the Sandvik Coromant Centers, and will demonstrate some of the activities and facilities customers will be able to access.
As well as providing opportunity for live product demonstrations and customer training, the center will unite with Sandvik Coromant’s global network of facilities on a regular basis. Complete with an auditorium, integrated showroom and modern machine tools, this new center will house a digital live machining system for broadcasting training and machining demonstrations, which will aid collaboration with others from around the globe in real time.
“The new center will offer an immersion into a state-of-the-art Sandvik Coromant experience,” explained Çetin. “The Sandvik Coromant Center is a place where innovation can happen, where customers can explore new ways of working for the first time, and where they can gain support to develop new manufacturing solutions. The centers help us to realise our objective to shape the world of metal cutting together.”
Helen Blomqvist, President of Sandvik Coromant, reinforces the potential of the centers. “By investing in the Istanbul Sandvik Coromant Center, the goal is not only to innovate, but also to build on the success of existing locations around the world and foster cross-center collaboration. I strongly believe that Istanbul can become a digital hotspot across our footprint, positioning Sandvik Coromant as experts in our field while helping our customers to become innovators too.”
