Through Sandvik Group, we are committed to addressing and mitigating negative impacts on biodiversity and ecosystems alongside our suppliers and customers. This initiative begins with a preliminary study to more precisely understand the impacts from our own operations and those of our strategic suppliers. Following this analysis, we will develop a biodiversity action plan that aligns with the EU’s Biodiversity Strategy. This strategy aims for no net loss of biodiversity by 2030, a net gain thereafter, and full recovery by 2050. As we refine our approach to measuring and managing our biodiversity impacts, we are considering alignment with global initiatives such as the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and Science-Based Targets for Nature (SBTN), all through the framework and support of Sandvik Group.

We evaluate our strategic suppliers' biodiversity practices to ensure responsible sourcing. Additionally, we are committed to sustainable water management across our value chain, involving local initiatives in water-stressed areas, reducing water consumption, implementing rainwater capture, and improving water treatment. These efforts are designed to support both our operations and our customers in reducing water usage.
