Tips and tricks

Congratulations to your new start-up tool kit. Now, it’s time to get your machine tooled up and running. We have compiled some useful tips and tricks to get you started.

Torque wrenches

To get the best performance out of our tools, it is important to have the correct insert tightening torque. In the Sandvik Coromant assortment, four torque wrenches, using bits for different Torx Plus sizes are available.

Tubes and connection kit for external shanks

Assemble your coolant connection correctly by using the connection kit included in your start-up tool kit. Click on the image to get your connections right.

For the tube connector on the machine interface side, use for ex. a 9 mm drill and thread for G or R 1/8 thread.

The tube is reinforced with high tensile stainless steel for high mechanical resistance to resist wear of chips and tough environments. The inner tube is made of smooth PTFE that is chemically inert and allows for wide range of coolants including oils, air, gases at high pressures.

Coolant connection

You can choose between a straight and a ninety degree coupling when applying coolant from the back. The straight coupling is included in your tool-kit. If you need a ninety degree coupling, we ask you to order it here.

EasyFix sleeves for internal boring bars

Your start-up kit for internal boring bars with high precision coolant comes with EasyFix sleeves for reduced set-up time. A spring plunger mounted in the sleeve clicks into a groove in the bar to guarantee the correct centre height. The slot in the cylindrical sleeve is metallic sealed which allows the existing coolant supply system to be used. The metallic sealing offers good performance also for high coolant pressure.
